Sketchbook Started: January 11th, 2021
Sketchbook Completed: February 15th, 2021
For my sketchbook I explored different mediums, looked into some of the mentioned artists and terms, and spent some time exploring a more illustrative style as well as practicing realism. I did some blind contour and contour drawings. I didn’t spend much time working on my graphic novel, but I think this needs a bit more reworking story wise before I draw any more pages, and I need to settle on whether I’m doing it traditionally or digitally (I currently have a collection of both styles of pages and it’s beginning to get a bit confusing).

Drawing inspired by the work of Junji Ito (Uzumaki in particular). I’m a huge fan of his style of drawing and storytelling, and like how his themes tend to incorporate cosmic horror - it’s very similar to Lovecraft’s work.

Drawing in the style of Il Lee to practice scribble line
Last page :)
I kept this envelope in the back of my sketchbook and store magazine cut outs and such in it that I might want to use at some point
I recently decided to start the C.Bargue drawing course. I’m switching between charcoal and graphite for the drawings, but I like working with charcoal pencils the best (last page). These are the panels that I have done so far:
I smudged this one by accident after I was done
